21st December: Sing-up St Pauls
Thank you all so very much for your commitment, good nature, flexibility, and homework culminating in a fabulously energised, delightful performance last night. Nothing went quite according to plan: everything worked . The feedback I have received from the audience , occupiers, activists and passers by has been overwhelmingly positive, as Im sure you were aware from looking out over the crowd that stood jubilant, in the cold, damp air for the best part of an hour. Mid range estimate comes out around 450 - audience around 400.
Thank you so much for the lovely emails I have received during the process and since last night - too many to respond to immediately but I will over the next few days . All feedback is precious, both positive and constructively critical as I learn and challenge myself and my practice through the generosity of your time . Many of you have talked about my energy. The lifeforce you feel in me comes from you; I am fed by harmony and companionship... you know how you feel after a really good sing with sympathetic souls , well that's my job!!
It was a true honour to lead you and a great pleasure to meet so many wonderful people and singers. THANK YOU
If you would like to keep in touch regarding other projects, musical activism or simply music, please let me know your interest and Ill keep you updated with what Im up to. If you would like to be taken off the group email, please let me know.
Please send any pictures/ comments/ links you like to Rob and I and we will pop some up.
Thank you all for my beautiful book, but especially Mark Brown , who really nudged me into this when I knew that getting involved would take over my life ( and it has ). This project could certainly not have happened with out the musical and political dedication of my dear friends. Publically I may look like a one woman band cos I can get into a bit of a zone, but that is certainly not the truth.
I will be in touch with website updates but for now you should be glowing 'When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes a duty" quoted by Matthew Horne in the Royal Courts of Justice and I have just heard that COURT WENT BRILLIANTLY and NO decision will be reached till further hearings in January. It's pretty rare that we get to be on the 'winning' side in court these days EH? ...THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN'
with love Sarah
